| Status: | Active, open to new members |
| Coordinator: | |
| Group email: | History group |
| When: | Monthly on Wednesday afternoons 2:00 pm-4:00 pm 4th Wednesday |
| Venue: | Daventry Museum Council Chamber |
Group Organiser: Will Philpott
Venue: Daventry Town Council Office, 3 New Street, Daventry, NN11 4BT
When: 4th Wednesday of each month (2.00-4.00p.m (except December)
The group is essentially self-supporting with individual members suggesting topics which they offer to lead on and a programme based on local, national and international history is agreed by the group.
There is no standard format with some members using PowerPoint presentations (a projector is available at the venue but the lead will need to bring a laptop) while others distribute a handout providing an overview and structure for the discussion. Although talks have been lead by individuals, they could be delivered jointly with another member.
A new idea being considered is shorter talks (30 minutes) whereby instead of a one hour talk, two x half hour talks (either by two separate individuals or one member could deliver both short talks)
Currently we do not have spare seating capacity for additional members therefore a second history group has been set up and new members are welcome (please see History 2 on this website)
